Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account: email address, sign-in identifier, and the name and profile photo from a social sign-in.
• Payments: plans and purchases, amounts, dates, billing country and postal code. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
• Content you submit: category, topic, tags, scripts you write, voice choice, and the scripts and videos we make for you.
• Video clips and photos you upload to make a Short from your own footage: the picture and sound in them (which can include your face and voice and other people), the request you add, and the transcript, script, narration and edit plan we make from them. We remove location (GPS) and other metadata from photos before using them.
• Consent records: the policy version you agreed to, when, your IP address and browser.
• Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, error logs, and essential cookies that keep you signed in.
• Support: messages you send us.

2. How we use it

To provide the Service (make your videos), run your account, process payments, credits and refunds, answer support requests, send service notices, keep the Service secure and prevent abuse, fix bugs, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

3. Sharing and processors

We share information only with service providers that process it for us:

• Clerk — sign-in and account security (US)
• Stripe — payments, subscriptions and refunds (US)
• Cloudflare — website hosting, security and video storage (global)
• Neon — database (servers in Singapore)
• OpenRouter and the AI model providers it connects to — research, script and text generation (US and other countries)
• Comfy Org and the AI model providers it connects to — image, video and voice generation (US and other countries)

AI providers receive only what is needed to make your video (topics, tags, scripts and scene descriptions; for your own footage, still frames and photos, the transcript of what is said, your request and, for the photos you choose to bring to life, that photo), not your email or account details. Speech in your clips is transcribed on our own servers. Please do not include other people's personal or sensitive information in what you submit. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and users.

4. Retention

• Account data, submissions and videos: until you delete them or your account.
• Downloadable assets of a finished video (scene images, video clips, narration audio, captions, script): deleted automatically 30 days after the video is finished. The finished video is kept like your other videos.
• Original video clips and photos you upload: deleted automatically 7 days after the video made from them is finished, or 2 days after upload if you never order. The finished video is kept like your other videos.
• Payment and consent records: up to 5 years, as required by tax, accounting and consumer-protection laws.
• Server and sign-in logs: about 3 months.

5. Your rights and choices

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or delete individual videos, by emailing alpha@soeasyshorts.com. We will verify your request and respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. California residents have these rights under California law; we do not sell or share personal information.

6. Do Not Track

We do not track you across other websites and use no advertising or analytics trackers, so we do not change our practices in response to Do Not Track signals.

7. Children

The Service is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit access to data, and never store card numbers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Users in the EU, UK and other regions (GDPR)

• Controller: Quokka Labs (Jaewon Yoon), alpha@soeasyshorts.com.
• Legal bases: performing our contract with you (the Service and payments); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the Service); legal obligations (tax and accounting records); and consent where we ask for it, which you may withdraw at any time.
• Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
• International transfers: our processors handle data in the US and other countries. We rely on their standard safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

10. Changes

We will post updates here with a new effective date. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the Service before they take effect.
